Information about 2008 Enrollment for Pharmacists
Do your patients need a new plan for 2008?
Some Medicare Part D sponsors have announced to CMS that they are not renewing their contracts, or are reducing their service areas, for the 2008 plan year. Community CCRxSM is NOT one of these plans.
Beneficiaries in non-renewing plans will have two choices: they may be auto-enrolled by CMS into a new Prescription Drug Plan for Part D coverage or they can voluntarily select a non-Part D plan. This is the perfect time for them to consider a Community CCRx Prescription Drug Plan.
Any of your patients who are affected by this change would have received a notification letter by October 2, 2007. These beneficiaries are entitled to a special election period (SEP) that will allow them to enroll in any PDP or MAPD with an effective date of November 1, 2007, December 1, 2007, or January 1, 2008. Remember: a beneficiary’s effective date is the first of the month following receipt of a completed application.
Help us communicate to these patients as they return to your store for monthly refills. A list of non-renewing plans can be found at CMS's Website.
Please work with your patients to find the right Community CCRx plan for them. If your patients have questions, or need enrollment materials, please have them contact our customer service department at 1-866-684-5353 (TTY/TDD users call 1-866-684-5351) from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., every day.
